Palexpo, Geneva’s exhibition and congress centre, is a 10-minute walk from the terminal at Geneva Airport (GVA, Genève Aéroport), which is why the airport hotels fill and reprice around its fairs. This guide covers how to reach the halls, the 2026-27 calendar, the hotels within a walk of the entrance, and when to book.

Getting to Palexpo from the airport

Palexpo’s own access page describes the venue as a 10-minute walk from the terminal. By tpg bus, lines 5, 8, 50, 55, 58 and 59 stop at Palexpo; lines 28, 54 and 66 stop at Palexpo-Halle 7; and lines 10, 23 and 57 stop at Genève-Aéroport Terminal, followed by the 10-minute walk. Line 5 is the useful one from the airport, since it runs Genève-Aéroport Terminal to Palexpo to Genève-Cornavin. A unireso zone 10 single is CHF 3.00 (the free 80-minute arrivals ticket was withdrawn in January 2022), and hotel guests’ free Geneva Transport Card (sent by email before arrival; zone 10 buses, trams, trains and boats) covers the trip. By car, Palexpo’s P12 car park has 1,500 spaces and is open around the clock; ibis Styles directs its guests there. It costs CHF 22.50 for a day; check Palexpo’s current rates for longer stays.

Hotels within a walk of the halls

Hilton Geneva Hotel & Conference Centre is directly across Route François-Peyrot from Palexpo and is the largest hotel at the airport (496 rooms, per the hotel’s events page), with conference facilities, an indoor pool and a free shuttle every 20 minutes from 4:20 am to 11:40 pm. ibis Styles Genève Palexpo Aéroport is at Route François-Peyrot 28, sharing a building with the cheaper ibis budget Genève Palexpo Aéroport; it has a 24-hour bar, breakfast from 5:30 am and no shuttle, and is the lowest-priced of the hotels beside the halls. Mövenpick Hotel Geneva (350 rooms, three places to eat and drink) and Crowne Plaza Geneva (366 rooms, a Club Lounge) are both about 600 m from the terminal by third-party measurement, on the Cointrin side, with free shuttles to the airport; add the 10-minute walk from the terminal to reach Palexpo, or use the bus. NH Geneva Airport in Meyrin is not walkable but its free shuttle serves Palexpo as well as the airport, the only hotel here to say so officially.

When to book

Watches and Wonders (5 to 11 April 2027) is the week to expect the highest rates and the least availability at the airport hotels, so book as soon as your dates are confirmed and prefer a cancellable rate in case plans change. CHI Geneva in December and the Book Fair in February also lift demand, though less. Outside fair weeks, demand at these hotels follows airport traffic. If the airport hotels are full, the city is 7 minutes away by train from the station under the terminal, and bus 5 runs from Cornavin to Palexpo and on to the terminal, about 27 minutes for the full airport to Cornavin run.
