Geneva Airport Ski Transfers - Chamonix, Verbier, Val d'Isère

Chamonix, Morzine and Les Gets: about 1 hour 15 minutes

Chamonix is 88 km from the airport by the A40 Autoroute Blanche, about an hour by car in clear conditions, 1 hour 15 minutes by shared shuttle. Alpybus and Alpine Fleet advertise seats from about EUR 15; the Geneva tourist office quotes EUR 35 to 50 for a typical shared seat. Treat every figure as “from” and check your date. Both operators also run summer services to Chamonix and Morzine.

Morzine and Les Gets, 75 to 80 km away, take about the same time. Shared seats are advertised at EUR 40 to 55, with the same low-priced “from” fares on some dates.

Verbier: the Verbier Express train or 2 hours by road

Verbier is 160 km away. Shared shuttles cost about CHF 60 to 90 per person and take around 2 hours.

The rail option is the Verbier Express, a direct winter train from the airport station under the terminal to Le Châble, the valley station for Verbier. In winter 2025-26 it ran every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday, leaving Genève-Aéroport at 6:30 am and 8:30 am and returning from Le Châble at 3:57 pm and 4:57 pm. Val d’Isère and the Tarentaise: 3 hours plus

Val d’Isère is 225 km away and the transfer takes 3 to 3 hours 30 minutes without delays. Shared seats are advertised at EUR 60 to 85; Alpine Fleet quotes from about EUR 49 and Ben’s Bus from GBP 40 one way and under GBP 80 return. Ben’s Bus has a desk in the main terminal opposite the UBS cash machines and runs at weekends through winter 2026-27. For a transfer this long, a flight landing after mid-afternoon means reaching the resort at night; a hotel at the airport and a morning departure is the alternative.

Timing, Saturdays and driving yourself

Winter Saturdays add 60 to 90 minutes to every road transfer. Since the biometric EU Entry/Exit System started at Swiss airports in October 2025, non-EU arrivals (British passport holders in particular) have reported passport queues of over two hours at the February 2026 ski peak, so leave extra time between landing and the shuttle departure.

Airport hotels for an early transfer

The terminal closes overnight: no scheduled departures between midnight and 6:00 am, the last arrivals land up to about 12:30 am and the building then closes until about 4:00 am. A late arrival cannot wait inside for an early shuttle. Four hotels run free shuttles early enough for a first departure:

Nash Airport Hotel: shuttle from 4:00 am, every 10 minutes until 5:30 am, then every 20 minutes; also a 7-minute walk.

Geneva Marriott Hotel: shuttle every 20 minutes from 4:30 am; 1.3 km, not a practical walk with skis.

For the cheapest early start, the ibis Genève Aéroport serves breakfast from 4:30 am and its shuttle runs from 5:00 am; it is a 10-minute walk. The ibis Styles Genève Palexpo Aéroport has no shuttle but a 24-hour bar and breakfast from 5:30 am.
